Mr. Bobby Crispy…you probably get this all the time but I am just going to go ahead and say it anyways…thanks for taking the time and putting up these instructional videos for us. Really, Bobby Crispy…thanks, man. Personally, how long do you think it would take someone like who, at the age of 24, has just picked up the guitar in January, to be able to play with ease and play songs by ear. What exercises do you recommend if I want to learn blues music. Thanks for your time, Bobby Crispy.

one time, i was in my bedroom, lying on the bed. i was listening to the white album, and this song came on, and in a way, it sums up harrison, and at the end, him being my hero and never getting to meet him, i shed a tear. RIP GEORGE HARRISON

Hi Bobby…by far I think you are the best youtube.com song teacher. Lot´s of the others shoot a 10 minutes video but in the end you see that they have spoken 9 minutes and played 1. So I have an ibanez RG 270. Which guitar strings should be the best ones for bends. Alex from Brazil.

THankyou Bobby for all the effort you put into these free lessons! You are a favourite teacher! Could you please set your camera for "player's view" please? There are only about 4 examples of this on youtube ( but not of songs that i am interested in] It would save a thousand well-explained words to concentrate on,
    and inverting the image mentally,
to see it up the right way, like the tabs are.
I have even found advantage turning my
desktop monitor on its side – then tilt my head
the other way [ very awkward] to see the fretboard up the right way!
It makes for visually familiar teritory on the neck.
I imagine using a tripod on it's side with it's legs together
over the shoulder, but resting on a shelf etc.
You'd be the the awesomest teacher then!
    Thanks 🙂

Most people make mistake about bending at 42 sec. like this. I wonder it's because Eric Clapton plays this part like this at Concert for George.

  • Reply vance640 May 15, 2014 at 11:11 pm

I know it's a lot of work and you do it for free but could you possibly do this for the entire song? There are many other gimmicks in this song which I cant get right and i'd love to learn it all should it take me a century to do it…Thank you so much again for your amazing work!

What is the name of the second chord? ….. the G shape, after the Amin/ Gbass run down.
It looks like you are playing a D shape with the E and A strings fretted at the 3rd fret. So is the D string open or muted?
    Is this correct?

I've been to the end of youtube and back on more than one occasion and you are one of the best IMO, you do it right, play it, show it, tab it, in IN LOGICAL phrases, some of these guys man they do a part, stop yak, then jump into the same riff somewhere else, then go back, they change their teaching style mid stream, its crazy

I can play pretty much everything and anything you teach unlike some others that seems they just like listening to themselves talk?

    so thanks a mill man

Hello Bobby, first of all, marvelous lessons! Great guitar tutorial stuff for us aspiring guitar players! Love your videos and efforts! Did not read all the comments so it might be said by smb already but is it possible you play smth different than the tab from 7:02? instead of 14/12 you play 12/10? or both ok? anyway, only confusing for beginners like me 🙂

  • Reply Chad McLoughlin July 21, 2017 at 7:38 pm

right from the start you are playing it wrong

  • Reply Nash Burges July 31, 2017 at 6:36 pm

Your title is misleading, Eric Clapton played and wrote the solo of While My Guitar Gently Weeps in the original recording and in all of the live performances he had with George and alone. Also, Paul had a minimalistic part in the recording and composition of the song.

Bobby, you are the best instructor I have watched on YouTube to teach this guitar solo.  I just began learning how to play electric guitar again after a multi-year "delay" caused by six years of chemo (compliments of exposure to Agent Orange/benzene thanks to the Marine Corps).  I started taking guitar lessons at Guitar Center and told my instructor I wanted to learn the hard stuff first because everything else would be easy after that.  So, I selected this guitar solo by Eric Clapton for one of George Harrison's most incredible songs.  I was having extreme difficulty with it UNTIL I downloaded your tablature.  Now, at least I have a chance at learning this within the next year.  I went out and bought a Gibson Les Paul Standard like yours, and it is as awesome as your guitar playing.  Thanks for posting your tabs.  I am definitely subscribing to your channel. Cheers!

I love you! Because of your brilliant instruction, I was able to learn this solo in two days and I'm a beginner. Obviously it's going to take quite a bit of practice for me to get it to sound as good as you but at least I can play it at a slower tempo without any errors. Thanks!!

  • Reply Bright Minds December 3, 2018 at 7:54 pm

Bobby, you're THE BEST!!!! I never understood people who post their videos, showing how cool they can play other people's songs. What's the point if one don't teach you the part, right? We might as well watch the original video, instead of some guy or a gal showing off their skills 🙂 You are a real teacher, and a great one! You explain clearly how it's done and also provide CRUCIAL tabs on screen, while you demonstrate the technique. Thank you very-very much!
