This video has to win some type of award. I cannot stop watching it, and because of it I am trying to figure out how to purchase this guitar, man so sweet.

I'm on vacation watching random guitar/tutorial videos – because I never have the time in my normal life…Saw this ad, and got inspired again to keep playing every chance I get. Nothing like watching craftsmanship and heart put into the creation of the object itself, and then the artist connecting with the object. Amazing! New subscriber on board.

Just watched this as an ad too, and sat there watching it the whole time! Didn't want it to end. So glad you posted it as a real video too. What wonderful craftsmanship went into making these guitars. I've played for much of my life, and never knew the extent of what went into the creation of such a fine instrument. Good for you! I bet the guys in the video have gotten a set of "fans" themselves… I surely am one now!

  • Reply Catherine S. Todd November 17, 2015 at 10:36 pm

Who is doing this beautiful playing? Would like to hear more, and the name of the tune too. Thanks for such a terrific video in so many ways. I am really glad I ran into it as an "ad." It's the first time I stayed to watch and listen to the whole thing and then found you here!

As a guitar player, I have been very blessed in my life.

My interest in these sound machines started early … around five or six years of age. My family had just moved out of a very poor area which consisted mostly of tarpaper shacks; and when my first grade teacher read us a story about a Spanish guitar-making family, I had to have one (guitar, not the family!). So with a little ingenuity, I made a guitar out of a cigar box, a square-sawn stick, some roofing tax and a hand full of rubber bands. That was my first step into a very unique and intoxicating industry. The year was 1953.

Eventually — ten years later, in fact — things got a little better for me when my dad sent home my first guitar: a 1954 Fender Stratocaster ($75) Christmas of 1963, which was replaced by a 1964 Stratocaster a couple years later ($180 which I actually paid for myself from band work).

Even though I generally did not have the funds to float quality guitars, through the grace of God, they kept coming to me. In 1974, my late brother Burt, gave me a 1973 Gibson ES-355 Stereo, as a combination college graduation gift / bonus for checking up on his music store many times, at two in the morning on a cold Tallahassee night.

Later on, as a sign of appreciation for a lot of hard work, a singer friend I was producing gave me his 1966 well-used Epiphone Texan … which was a great guitar … in fact, the exact same model that Paul McCartney had used when he offered “Yesterday” on the Ed Sullivan Show back around 1965. Only problem was, my friend's gorgeous but large girlfriend apparently took a turn standing on the thing, doing a slight number on the guitar’s top.

Eventually, the same guy forked over his Gibson J-200. With friends like that … who needs money, right?

Continuing down that kind of road, my wife gave me both a 1973 Gretsch Country Gentleman and a 1991 ’62 Fender Stratocaster reissue. How’s that for true love?

And when my older brother and best friend passed away suddenly, I bought his small guitar collection from good old Uncle Sam. While the monetary cost was not too dear, the emotional price of course, was difficult to bear.

Years later, enter B&G Handmade, and their Little Sister.

When I first saw the video, I was just knocked out. In fact, I became obsessed. I studied the thing … listened to everything I could find on it. Made some comments on reviews by guitar magazines, and began an Email blitz on the face of the Sisterhood, Mr. Avi Goldfinger … 007, himself.

Being the nice guy and consummate businessman he is, he always cordially answered whatever dumb thing I wrote him. Over the months, I am quite sure I made a 6’2”, 235 pound pest of myself with some pretty stupid Emails. But The Seven came to appreciate my appreciation for their excellent product. And in both an attempt to get rid of me I’m sure, and a sincere desire to get one of their instruments into my hands, Avi offered me a Little Sister almost any way he could.

So we agreed upon an arrangement. But long before we got to that point, The Seven exhorted me to send him my specifications for how I wanted my Sister to look. You see, Avi was concerned about getting a Little Sister to me by Christmas. This guy — in fact, these guys — cared about my Christmas.

When the time came, I went about preparations on my end, and struggled in the process to get it all together, wondering if I was doing the right thing. And the process was rather lengthy and time consuming: but I got it moving. In the end, our arrangement did not work out as well for the B&G guys as it should have, thanks to some logistics problems. None-the-less, they held up their end of the bargain. They could have cancelled the agreement, and I had given them opportunity to do so. But they held up their end of the bargain and sent me the guitar I requested.

So, If you have any doubts as to the integrity of these guys, fear no longer: their character is as good as their guitar … and their guitar is pretty darn good.

  • Reply Rachel Beinish March 14, 2016 at 2:55 am

I just fell in love (sigh)… what a fabulous presentation. One of the most beautiful looking and sounding guitars I've ever experienced. Reminds me of a 1957 Gibson ES145T I was fortunate enough to own in the late sixties, and foolish enough to sell. That had only one neck P90 and a regular headstock, but otherwise almost identical. Oh well…
