Today we are going to do a Coke Studio India song. Bismillah. Composed by one of my favourite music director duo Salim Sulaiman The song has been sung by Kailash Kher and Munawar Masoom. The song may be a bit difficult, but don’t get overwhelmed, because if you have seen my tutorials till now, then you would have noticed that we break up every song and learn it bit-by bit. And a lot of you have commented that you didn’t expect yourself to learn the song or sargam, but you were able to. So the trick is that you take any sargam or song, break it up and learn it bit-by-bit you won’t even realise when you have managed to learn the whole thing. So let’s first sing the song once. I will teach only the part by Kailash Kher, the song is very long (to teach). If you follow the steps in my Week 12 video, you will realise it has been sung in G scale originally. I will sing it in C scale as that’s a comfortable range for me (for this song). So come let’s just do this much first. Now you might have guessed a bit that the same note was sung for these words. *Rehmaton ka* (sorry I got carried away in teaching) This is exactly similar to ‘Kehne se’ part. So the phrase ‘Bismillah’ is and it is repeated many times in the song. So it has the same notation throughout. Since it might seem a bit difficult to some of you, I will sing this whole bit again, slowly.
