As duet night draws to a close, there have been some exceptional performances, but it’s also been an exhausting ordeal for many competitors. Running on fumes a little bit. Who spent all night rehearsing their songs for their one shot in front of the judges and many were pushed to their limits. They don’t make it easy. Oh, I know it’s hard. Including duet partners, Just Sam and Sheniel Maisonet. Also, I don’t know. Am I singing it
in a completely different key because the key that I’ve been rehearsing it in is G minor. All right. So are you guys clear on the on the arrangement, then? No. Still not? It’s just a lot to do. That’s why. Have you seen Just Sam? After struggling through their first rehearsal, Sheniel finds herself without a partner as Just Sam reaches her breaking point. There’s a lot of tension and a lot of
nerves. Have you guys seen Just Sam? She was
like, “I need this to be good. I need this to be good.” And I was like, “I know, I know
you’re stressed.”. I hear everybody out there and I was just looking around at everyone and it just made me emotional because I’m like, I’m not doing enough. Just Sam? What’s wrong? I’m sad. You’re stressed. Don’t be stressed. You can’t, you can’t let these things get the best of you. We all want to do good here and you’re going to do good. I know she’s tired and we just have to like kind of like keep our hopes up and stay positive. I’m sorry. I mean, I just think what you need in these times is. Friends, you know, a friend that cares about you and somebody who’s there to tell you it’s OK, it’s gonna be OK. Sometimes that’s all you need. I feel so much better after that. So what happened with you guys? Basically, we just kind of surrendered to the stress. Which I don’t think is very good. I think sometimes just the body needs a breakdown. Well, let me say this to you, two, that everybody here with a partner is going through some sort of stress. They haven’t gone to their little fight yet. You guys got yours over with. And after a few hours of sleep, Just Sam and Sheniel, have one last rehearsal before facing the judges. At this stage in the competition, nobody can afford to miss. No, we can’t afford to mess up at all. If that performance was in front of the judges, I don’t think I would’ve made it through, she would have. But not me. This audition, it would change my life, my family’s life. It would change everything. As the performance draws near, Just Sam’s anxiety is overwhelming. How are you feeling? Feeling all right? My head is just still pounding. Yeah, your head is pounding? Yeah. I don’t feel okay, because I know that I’m going to mess up. Alright, gather your breath up. This audition. It’s super important to me. I have to I have to do it. I have to make it. I have to. You’re just getting better and better and better and you’re getting more and more, more, more confidence and you’re starting to believe, believe, believe, believe. You know, Sam, I couldn’t take my eyes off watching you perform. The first note too. But honestly, you’re giving us drama. You understand me to sing the song is one thing, to act the song. Give us what you’re actually feeling is everything. Thank you. Well, you girls are fighters. And you have fought your way to the next round. Congratulations. Oh my god, really? Both of you are going through! I don’t feel like this is real. I feel like I’m dreaming my head is pounding because I don’t think I even breathed up there. Do you want to go to dinner, hang out a couple more hours together? No! No! I don’t want to! Oh my God, this is life changing.
