– I feel like this is almost like a… A woman’s bulletproof vest. (laughs) (upbeat drums music) – I have heard of waist training, but mostly just on the internet. – In Instagram, I follow
a few of the Kardashians. – I think women have always wanted to get that like, Coke bottle physique. – I don’t think waist training would be that popular if the in body type right now wasn’t an hourglass figure. – I think the message that
Kim K and all those other people that love to wear
waist trainers are sending is that this the ideal body
type or this is the body type that a woman should strive to have. – It’s talked about so
casually, and then when you think about it, it’s something
to take super seriously, and make sure you’re
doing it the right way. – Mmm. – It’s actually kind of heavy. – I could see it affecting
my breathing, though. This is like, tighter than SPANX. – Am I supposed to be able to do all of those clasps by myself every day? (laughs) – I’m ready to get my Kim K on. Figure out what a day in the
life of Kim Kardashian is like. (electronic music) – Remember that it’s basically encasing your abdomen in a vice. So if it’s too tight, it could
put pressure on your liver and spleen, on your stomach,
and your intestines. Especially when you’ve
eaten, that could cause belching, it could cause
reflux, and pushing acid into your esophagus, which
can cause damage eventually. Do not wear it for more than
one or two hours at a time. Do not wear your waist trainer if you’re doing heavy, strenuous exercise. And remember, it’s not
going to permanently alter the look of your waist, and it’s not going to help you shed pounds. (techno music) – It’s bright pink. Why is it so bright? – So I got it on. Literally had to put my hair
up, I’m sweating so bad. So here we are. – Day one, so I have it as
loose as it can go right now. And I’ll probably just
keep it on for an hour while I clean the house,
vacuuming and stuff. – I think exercising in
this would be interesting. ‘Cause even just walking,
sometimes, like just having my heart rate up a little
bit, it’s just like (whines). It’s not uncomfortable. It’s just a really weird
feeling of being so sucked in. – I definitely have to
sit with perfect posture. Breathing is a little bit more difficult. It kinda makes me wanna burp. – Not sure if there’s been any changes or anything in my waist. It’s getting a little
easier to wear this thing. – Mostly getting very frustrated that I can’t sit comfortably or lounge. – Y’all, my bellybutton
itched earlier, and a (bleep) did not know
what the (bleep) to do. Tryin’ to get underneath all of these hooks and whistles is crazy! – Since the packaging says this is ideal for exercise or some bullshit like that, I am gonna try and do
some movement, I guess. Okay, so I just did like maybe 30 seconds of very light working out, and I just wanted to throw up the whole time. – It’s not really inhibiting
me from eating in any way. I just feel like I have
a girdle on perpetually. – You know, I was never able to get it on the very last hook. I feel like it would take me a while to work up to that last hook,. And I don’t really know
if I’d wanna get there. After a week of wearing the waist trainer, I actually lost an inch
and a half on my waist. But I do think that’s because I was being a lot more active while I was wearing it. – There was a slight
change in my waist size. I’m also doing another
video where I’m trying Cardio Barre, and I
feel like that had more to do with my waist
change than this thing. – No, the waist trainer did not
change the size of my waist. – The waist trainer’s definitely
a little tricky to get on. – It didn’t hurt to be in it. It didn’t feel like it was pushing my organs together or anything like that. – But when I was wearing it, it didn’t allow me to take deep, proper breaths. – I did salsa dancing in it, and it wasn’t as hard or difficult as
I thought it would be. I could tell that it was
helping with my posture. – I do not see how the
Kardashians or Blac Chyna can get the bodies that they
have solely from wearing this. – I think there are probably
better and healthier ways to achieve the look
you want to achieve.
DIANA RINGO: I get into my corset everyday,
part of my beauty routine and it just makes me feel gorgeous. DIANA RINGO: Well, I started corset training
after having twins and I became a little bit unhappy because I didn’t have the curves
that I thought I used to have. So, I started with the waist trainers. Once I got a little
bit of a good result, I fell in love with them and I just kept reducing my waist size. COMM: This is 39-year-old Diana Ringo. This
veteran mother of three has a waist that measures a minuscule 18 inches when she’s wearing her
corset. DIANA RINGO: I wear my corsets around twenty
three to twenty three and a half hours unless I go to the gym or taking a shower, obviously.
If you put it on to too tight you can experience a little bit of numbing. You can experience
some nerves telling you, ‘Hey! You gotta get it off or you gotta loosen it.’ I come
from a very poor background. I would say, you know, I lived in the ghetto. And it was
difficult making ends meet and the military helped me take care of my son. It gave me
a lot of benefits. I travelled a lot. You know, I experienced different things. DIANA RINGO: When I have my corset on, it
makes me feel so sexy. I naturally felt sexy but it just boosted my self-esteem a lot more.
It just makes me feel good. DIANA RINGO: My family is torn between it’s
okay and some think I am going to die today, maybe tomorrow. I do value their opinion but
I ultimately have to live with myself and the decisions I make are to make myself happy. BRETT RINGO: First I was very sceptical, very
nervous, concerned but gotten used to it over the last couple of years and with the reassurance
from her doctor, I am, I am okay with it. DIANA RINGO: Some parents think I am a bad
example. But my job isn’t to take care of their children. My job is to take care of
mine. DIANA RINGO: I don’t think my kids think
anything of it. I think they don’t care. I am not worried at all about giving my boys
negative self-image. I think that they are going to grow up like manly men. They have
their father to look up to. I am just their mom. CARMEN WINCHESTER: I am going to grab here
like this, like a cup. CARMEN WINCHESTER: I was clinching. I was
like, ‘This is too much.’ But it looks like you can breathe and you can handle it.
Can you dance with it? DIANA RINGO: I can do it. CARMEN WINCHESTER: You can do it? Then it’s
okay. DIANA RINGO: This is Carmen. She is one of my best friends. I know her from my navy days. I got her to try one. CARMEN WINCHESTER: Yeah! And I felt pretty
and I felt tall and I felt, I felt like I had a waistline. I only wear it occasionally.
Like, if I have a dress that I want to fit in, then I do it. But she does it 24/7 honestly.
It’s something that you have to get used to doing it. It changes the way that you sit,
the way that you bend down to pick up something. It’s kind of, like constantly having somebody
hug you. DIANA RINGO: Yeah. It’s restrictive. DIANA RINGO: I like this. Like, I love this. CARMEN WINCHESTER: If it makes you feel like,
powered. More power to you. DIANA RINGO: On the street I get things like,
‘What the fudge?’ or, ‘Oh my god!’ And then I get some people that are like,
‘Oh my god! How did you do that? I want to do that.’ I am used to it now though. WOMAN: I think it’s somewhat bad, not completely
bad. But I do think it’s somewhat bad because you know, you are tightening all your insides,
not letting the regular, normal flow of your intestines, all your intestines to work the
way they should. MAN: So, I think she is sexy. DIANA RINGO: Or crazy. MAN: Or crazy. I would side with sexy over
crazy. I think that would probably be the thinnest waist I have ever seen. WOMAN: Does it hurt? It’s the only thing
I would wonder. DIANA RINGO: No. After a while, my body just
got used to it. WOMAN: I think it’s different. But I don’t
think, I don’t know. I just feel like people should do whatever they want to, no matter
what. DIANA RINGO: Do you want to touch it? WOMAN: Yeah! DIANA RINGO: I don’t only get hate when
I wear corsets out. DIANA RINGO: I can breathe properly in my
corset. I just can’t take tremendous full breaths while I am wearing it and nobody lives
their lives taking tremendous full breaths. BRETT RINGO: I don’t think she has taken
it too far because we have an agreement that she is not going to go any smaller. The training
has increased her self-confidence and that’s you know, that’s okay. BRETT RINGO: I would say, ‘A happy wife,
a happy life.’ So, this makes her happy. DIANA RINGO: This is important to me because
it makes me feel good. It makes me feel sexy and if I feel good and I am happy I, I go
For this it’s helpful to climb with your fabrics split you’re also going to want to have a good amount of height The more height you have the better, so if you’re working in a lower ceiling climb all the way to the top. ok so you’re going to have your fabrics split you’re going to bring your body through the fabric you’re gonna straddle and crenshe your foot on both pieces of fabric bend with your free leg and have it positioned however you like I like to bring it and cross my ankles and you’re going to take the fabric cross it behind your back then you’re going to cross it over your middle right on your rib cage and around your back again so this is similar to the angel swing that you did in level one so now you can bend both your legs and find the edges of your fabric then you’re gonna straddle pike and angel flip over gonna drop your tails at first this will feel pretty uncomfortable but you will get used to the way it constricts you in the middle you’re going to go ahead and do another straddle over but don’t let go of the poles of the fabric here you’re gonna hook one of your legs you’re gonna take your tail whichever one is on the outside farther away from your body and just hold onto it there so you don’t slide bend your top leg and you’re going to sit up grab above your knee and then you’re going to hang so that way you’re being held by your armpit and your knee then you’re gonna take swim your arm through and place the fabric on your neck take your bottom leg and cross it for a basket position I’m going to take that arm and go ahead and bring the fabric so it’s back on your armpit crochet it in your elbow once straighten both your legs and then just pop your hips open for a nice angel position take your top leg bring it back behind you hold onto that, either piece of fabric and you’re just going to uncross make sure that you really hold the tension here otherwise you will slide and then come over in an angel flip.
Hello and welcome to my new Guitar-Nerdery video! Today I’m gonna take another exercise of Vinnie Moore and
transform it into a left hand legato meets hybrid picking exercise Adapting guitar technics – In my former two videos I showed an exercise where you could pick every note with the finger and
with the plectrum, but most of the time when we’re using hybrid picking it’s
combined with left hand legato. The following exercise I’m going to show you
is also inspired by one of Vinnie Moore’s exercises and I’m gonna combine hybrid
picking with left hand legato technique means hammer-ons pull-offs. The left hand legato technique is pretty challenging for the left hand and that exercise is
one of many you can use to build up strength, control, timing and articulation,
but as always don’t see it only as an exercise. You can create stunning fast
shredding licks with it! Just to keep it simple for you I’m gonna use the same
pattern as I used in my video before the whole idea of the exercise is taking a
scale and from each note you’re playing three notes up ….. and so on and backwards Let me show you! To play that slow is super-hard 😉 you This is the exercise! Easy to explain, but
playing it is a different story. If you want to dive into left hand legato
technique this is a very good one I recommend it hardly. Man time flies this
is already the end of the video I hope you liked it,
the exercise. Please like and subscribe and I’m looking forward see you next

Hey, how’re you doing? Justin here.
In this video today we’re going to be checking out some really basic
fingerstyle exercises for you guys that have never played any fingerstyle before, I wanna try and get your fingers moving If you are wondering about this funny sheet down here it is just to reflect a little bit of light back on my fingers so when we do a close up you can see clearly
what I’m doing. Before you think “what is he doing dragging weird sheets into the screen?” That is why it is there. So let’s have a look at that close up now. What I want you to do is I want you to position your fingers on the strings so you have got your 3rd finger picking the thinnest string, your 2nd finger plucking the 2nd string, your 1st finger plucking the 3rd string and your thumb plucking the thickest string. On your left hand you are holding down a G chord. A regular old 1st generation G chord if you like. So what we are going to do first is this little exercise. We are going to pick now thumb . . . 1, 2, 3 . . . and again: thumb . . . 1, 2, 3 . . . you will probably have to look at it a little bit at this stage. Trying to “suss” (work) out where those notes are. Just try and do it nice and evenly if you can. Now it is really important that you realise that you don’t have to have long fingernails to do this. There are lots of great guitar players that play with no fingernails. I think Neil Young doesn’t play with fingernails. Dominic Miller, the fantastic guitar player that plays in Sting’s band, chopped off all of his fingernails and just plays with the flesh on his fingers and he is a fantastic fingerstyle guitar player. So don’t feel like you have to have nails. Now I do wear fake nails and I know it looks really gay or whatever girly or whatever you think. I don’t really care because it makes a really good sound on the guitar and if I didn’t have plastic fingernails on then my fingernails wouldn’t last long enough to actually do any playing at all. So I am not recommending that you go and get fake nails unless you are really into fingerstyle and you play a lot. Right? But if you want to grow a little bit of your natural fingernail to pluck the string it does tend to have a slightly nicer, brighter sound to my ear than just playing with the fleshy parts of your fingers. But it doesn’t really matter. Just thought I would point that out before we get all these haters on the videos going “oh my God, you look like a vampire. Your fingernails look really weird”. Yeah I know they look really weird. I can’t help it. If I could change it so they look more normal I would. But anyway, back to our exercises. So exercise 1 that we are doing is with our G chord going thumb . . . 1, 2, 3 . . . thumb, 1, 2, 3 . . . Over and over again . . . nice and simple . . . When you get bored of doing that I want you to change it and now go thumb . . . 3, 2, 1 . . . thumb, 3, 2, 1 . . . And do that for a little bit . . . When you get bored of that
the next one that I want you to do is thumb . . . 1, 2, 3, 2, 1 . . . thumb, 1, 2, 3, 2, 1 . . . Just keep going through that trying to get your picking nice and even . . . Trying to keep it in time . . . and trying to be accurate about the strings that you pick . . . Now hopefully you will remember from when we were doing the rhythm guitar
where we hit the bass note of the chord and then we did a couple of strums that most of the chords have their bass note on a different string. So for both E and G the bass note is on the 6th string. So we were just playing a G chord but the finger picking would have been exactly the same for an E or an Emin. But if we went to say a C chord our thumb would move over onto the 5th string. So let’s just have a close look at that now. The thumb is on the 5th string here. We are playing a C chord with the left hand and we are doing . . . thumb, 1, 2, 3 . . . We go through the same exercises again . . . And then reversing the top ones. So 3, 2, 1 . . . thumb, 3, 2, 1 . . . After you have done that for a little while we go up and back . . . thumb, 1, 2, 3, 2, 1, thumb . . . And then even over onto a D chord. So if we play D the thumb moves all the way onto the 4th string. So . . . thumb, 1, 2, 3, 2, 1 . . . And then maybe back to G . . . Thumb, 1, 2, 3, 2, 1 . . . D . . . You can see that the string change from the thumb is just following the names of the chords. If we went to C . . . D . . . G . . . D . . . and back. It is a really, really good technique and can be really simple. You can see already we have started to make music out of it just using this . . . Thumb, 1, 2, 3, 2, 1 . . . pattern and doing that pattern once on whatever chord we felt like. If you keep it consistent suddenly it sounds like a song. Fingerstyle is a very cool thing. When you first start it most people find it a little bit awkward and they are picking the wrong strings or they miss it or they start picking the wrong group of strings that kind of thing. It’s dead normal. As usual pretty much everything on the guitar it just takes some practice. So have a good go at doing that and we are going to do a few more fancier exercises with the old fingerstyle next time but just as a really good exercise start working that in. Getting used to the bass moving around
onto different strings. That would be a really really cool start for you. So, have fun with that and I will see you for another lesson shortly. Bye, bye.
