Grow your beard! It’s a pleasure to be here. And I’m going to play you one of my songs. My name is Nate Maingard. I’m going to play a song called “Home”. And it’s a song about being from the country
and from a place where people kind of talk to each other and know one another’s names
and don’t wear shoes too much and about kind of how scary cities can be sometimes because
they a, they separate people from one another. And so this is the song. Growing up was easy, taking life slowly, ocean and mountain were my friends. I was in no hurry. Shoes were never near me, barefoot and naked in the rain. I know you well. I know you well. I know you well, home, home, home. I’ve lived in the city, city all around me. No one was naked in the rain. Seemed as though the people compounded all their troubles, compressed them into concrete and to pain. I see you crying. People walk by. It doesn’t make much sense to me. And I see you crying. Why don’t you try and come on home with me? Come on home, home, home, home. Everyone who meets me knows I’m from the country. I’m proud of everything I have learned. And everywhere I travel I love all those people getting naked and crazy in the rain. I know you well.I know you well. I know you well, home, home. Come on home, home, home. Thank you very much.
