How to Prepare a Pineapple | 1 Minute Tips | Food Busker

Hi guys, I’m going to show you how to perfectly prepare a pineapple. Place your pineapple on it’s side, and secure it in place with one hand while you top and tail it, using a sawing action. Then move in a barralling motion down around the pineapple. We’ve left very little
flesh on the skin. Cut through into nice slices. If you’ve got a corer, use that to take the centre of the pineapple out. If
you haven’t then I’m using this cookie cutter. Place the metal ring on top of the
pineapple over the core and then push down. Give it a twist and
out comes the core. If you want to turn it into chunks simply cut through. And there you’ve got pineapple chunks.

    Or buy a cutter for 6 bucks on Amazon that also cores at the same time. 😛 Also, the fun part is you can use the Pineapple as a cup afterwards if you want.

    Why do you cut the core? it is the best part of the pineapple.

    You have to cut the holes out else it will be tough.

    I would tend to top and tail, cut the skin off, then chop it into quarters from there leaving the core easily cut off from each section. Probably saves a bit of time as opposed to cookie-cutting each individual slice 🙂

    …and of course, you keep the core for baking with some pears, some vanilla pod, lime zest and some water. when tender, remove the juice into a saucepan and add some butter and cream for a vanilla caramel.
     
    drench your pears and pinapple with creamy sticky goodness and dust some almonds and dark chocolate, served with walnut and pecan icecream

    dont peel it. cut it in slices first. then remove the skin of the slices from inside. much easier. way more control.

    That's a lame way to do it. I'm sure I've seen vids of peops doing it where they seem to stab around at it, get a bag, then flip it upside-down and all the chunks of pineapple come out all nicely squared.

    You're supposed to get a yellow pineapple, for starters. Or let it ripen if you can't find one. Second, you're supposed to cut off all the eyes on the pineapple as they contain a substance that will numb your tongue when you eat it.

    i prefer how they cut out the brown bits (eyes) on the side of the pineapple in a v shaped manner.

    I cut the slices first and than remove the skin. Much easier

    Why did you leave the brown hard parts on the pineapple? i never eat those as they don't taste good.

    I thought the video was gonna show me how to properly cut a pineapple in a minute….You need to cut the "eyes" of the pineapple in v shaped diagonals before you slice it…no need for a video to show you how to cut it in such a basic way…

    I agree with him, right up until he starts coring the pineapple. The core is great! And if you want to cut your pineapple into even pieces do it in a wedge / pie pattern, not … however he was doing it.

    Here's a thought for people who love pineapples.
    Pour a bit of light soy sauce and eat it. And if you want to go a bit crazier, prepare a saucer of soy sauce with red cut chillies. Personally I can't stand the thought of soy sauce with pineapples but I've seen lots of people who eat it and loving it.

    Here in Asia, we trim the "eyes" out of the surface of the pineapple. The "eyes" causes a stingy effect on the tongue.

    I've seen pineapple being cut where they cut the flesh in a spiral motion to remove those spots? is that a thing? I never understood the purpose!

    Really sloppy work. There was a lot of wooden parts still left in the pineapple…if you eat those, than I question your taste.
