a lot of guitar players aren't know because they don't play in popular bands, just because he plays in a popular band doesn't qualify him for being the best :p

Index finger is always to the left?? I hope so. I would like to see you play it otherwise.

money and fame aside, Alex Skolnick is definitely one of the greatest metal guitarists to ever grace this wonderful genre of music. It would be subjective to call him the greatest but he definitely has to be toward the top of the list. His body of work speaks for itself. One way to measure his ability is to listen to not only the albums he has played on but to also listen to his live performances. He is every bit as good live as he is in the studio…live playing, the make it or break it for musicians. On a side note, he does not walk around calling himself one of the greats, there are plenty of others who refer to him with that distinction. Thank you for this wonderful set of videos.
