November 11, 2019

Hi, I’m Bobby crispy this video is provided our lesson series, so today. I’ll show how to play helter skelter by the beatles Okay, the intro shuts off the bottom two strings The [bump] string open and the second string [12th] fret let’s slide down Okay slide down to the third fret on the second string play the bottom string open as well That’s several times the second string second fret Hmm to the first fret second string All the [while] [playing] the bottom string open slap hurt Then it goes from the G chord for four beats [yee] for four beats And the rhythm basically for the song is one two and one two one two Like so okay verse is [E48] beats You again for a beats again for four beats G for [4] beats And eight hoarsely wants Okay the course [he] sings helter skelter Okay, I’ll play it first little [shawl] [played] you [I’ll] take a skosh off Okay, so it’s e [core] four beats then fifth string open fourth string second fret twice fourth fret Twice oh Third string open fourth string fourth fret second open fifth string fourth fret second Okay The exact same thing [but] move it down Fred Lauren okay, so it’s top string open and 5th string 2nd fret twice 4th fret of the 5th string Twice fourth string open fifth string fourth fret second Okay Top string fourth second open and back to the first part I was on a And ecore if you want you in bend, and that slightly better string Okay, so that’s the course it plays the course so we place the [verse] in the course again And then the first row at one minute 33 seconds. I’ll play it first Okay, first Okay, why don’t strain some threat second string open third string? I threatened way out twice Okay, first string 15th fret bend up play it again 15th fret regular position second string 15th fret and up third string fourth fret and up fourth string 14th fret second string Thirteen threat [ened] up slowly third string twelfth fret Bend it called [signs] quickly second string the 15th fret and up first Sorry Thirteen 12th fret fourth string fourteen threat Okay, through the second solo at two minutes and three seconds the song May go to somewhat quite first That’s the first first string twelfth fret fifteen wrap it up Play it again then pull off to the 12th Or play it bends up as you as your pocket and back down second string 15th fret Back to the first string off Back to the second string 15th or slide down to the 10th 3rd string and threat Back to the second string 10th fret [pent] up Play it again with it ends up and go back down Eight fret third string some [threats] [light] up tonight Okay in finally um This is placed seven times after the soul two three a seven tonnes in total and that’s basically the same as The [ref] [in] the course, but I’ll show it again So it’s a fourth string open fifth string fourth fret second open top string fourth fret second Okay, and those are the main parts to the song [Koffler] skelter. Incidentally, I've just watched a Japanese movie called Helter Sketler (watch?v=ab0a1Y5nqIg) last night. It's quite a scary, twisted but beautiful film. 😉

You HAVE to be telepathic you always seem to upload a song I love to bits. You've got great taste in music Bobby, thanks a bunch for uploading this.

  • Reply Cameron October 22, 2012 at 7:12 am

Actually to be honest, I'd rather you introduce yourself and play one section of the song like the chorus for example and then teach it.

I don't think so, the headstock and truss rod cover aren't Gibson-like

  • Reply SaintJimmy76 September 29, 2013 at 2:02 am

Yecchhhhh!!! Love your videos but for future reference could you play a sample of the song first before jumping into the lesson? Your tempo & measures for the intro were so horrible that I had some doubt that this video would teach me the proper way to play this song. I had to go to the original recording to see what the heck you were talking about. Plus, your picking style may have been throwing me off as well….you're using downstrokes when it sounds like upstrokes on the original.

This guy is always stoned as fuck, and I can appreciate that, but he's also not very bright, so he fucks up everything. His vids are always excruciating. But if the song is simple enough, eventually he gets around to teaching you how to play it.

Nice, but like a lot of other Examples on utube not entirely right.Whats missing out is that kinda "bit-overtuned-E" in the basic E-chord, which the Beatles played probably with a bit of neck-bending or a slight upward use of the whammy-Bar. Does no one but me is hearing that when u compare it to the Original Track? I Play it with a light Hammer-on on the F-Note first Fret, and it comes close….
