Dispatch – How To Play “Only The Wild Ones” [Acoustic Guitar Tutorial]

November 18, 2019

– This guitar is a half step down and so the song is a half step down and I’m playing everything in an A, fifth fret A major seven
but it’s a half step down. ♫ Long hair and longer stride ♫ Skateboard affair with a primal tribe ♫ And your cut off painter pants ♫ Chargin’ down the green mountains ♫ With our thrift store friends ♫ Who you find so, so in
love with the falling earth ♫ Oh you wake in the
middle of the summer night ♫ With summer playing coy ♫ In the attics of the city night ♫ We talked Corso and the MC5 ♫ You could dance like ♫ We were all all right ♫ Only the wild ones ♫ Give you something
and never want it back ♫ Oh the riot and the
rush of the warm night air ♫ Only the wild ones, give
you something and never want it back ♫ Stars are up now no
place to go but everywhere ♫ Mmmmmm ♫ One I met in the green mountain state ♫ I dropped out, and he moved away ♫ Heard he got some land down south ♫ Changed his name to a name
the birds could pronounce ♫ Only the wild ones, give you something ♫ And never want it back ♫ Oh the riot and the
rush of the warm night air ♫ Only the wild ones, are
the ones you can never catch ♫ Stars are up now no
place to go but everywhere ♫ Ooh and the mayor said ♫ Those who dance are all mislead ♫ So you packed your bags
and head to the coast ♫ Said you gonna be like Charlie Rose ♫ Only the wild ones, give you something ♫ And never want it back ♫ Oh the riot and rush
of the warm night air ♫ Only the wild ones, are
the ones you can never catch ♫ Stars are up now no
place to go but everywhere ♫ Oooh, oooh , oooh, oooh ♫ Only the wild ones, give you something ♫ And never want it back ♫ Oh the riot and rush
of the warm night air ♫ Only the wild ones, are
the ones you can never catch ♫ Stars are up now no
place to go but everywhere ♫ Mmmmm ♫ Mmmmm ♫ Mmmmm ♫ Mmmmm

Chaddo made this video to show Brad and Pete how to play the song and we thought it would be fun to share it with all of you.

P.S. If you watch it and decide to make an "Only The Wild Ones" cover video, link to it here in the comments so that we can see it.

Love this song, and my son, 10 years old, does as well. He is excited to see you all when you come to Michigan. I've been listening for years, and he is more excited. He just started playing the guitar, so wanted me to play something with it, and just went to my pandora and this song played and he jumped all in.

He's playing the chorus like it would almost have the snare in a different place than it is on the studio version. It makes it sound a lot more fast-paced. An interesting take on an already great song, and from the original artist. You're the man, Chad!

So awesome. Never seen the music tabbed out by the musician like this. Thanks! Beautiful song.

Chad! Huge fan in need of help! My fiancé and I are getting married next weekend and we had our hearts set on her walking down the isle to the instrumental of OTWO’s however our DJ has informed us that it seems no instrumental versions exist 🙁 . I know this is the craziest request ever and don’t even expect it to be seen, but do you happen to know of one that exists??? By the way you guys were awesome in Philly couple months back and can’t wait to see ya’s in Boston this December!!

Thank you for sharing this video! It helped us a lot in making a cover on a guitar camp last summer :). It was a bit hard to learn and arrange the song in just few days, but kids were amazing and we had a lot of fun!
You can check out the result here:
