Bryan Rodecker (Infidelix) – Rapper from Texas | Buskers around the world

September 1, 2019

I’m a rapper from Texas and… I live in Berlin and I do street music. It’s cool. I’ve been in Berlin for almost two years now I started backpacking in Europe maybe about three years ago and I went all over and then when I got done living out of the backpack, I wanted to stay somewhere, I chose Berlin and the culture and the music scene here is amazing, specially for street music, so I’ve stayed here and I love it. There’s a lot of thing that I want to transmit with my music to the people when I play in a country where English isn’t the first language, it’s very important to get the message across not only verbaly but with your body movements and with your energy and what I like to try to show to people is… instead of them listening, I want them to feel my music. I want them to be part of it and that is what I try to bring out everyday to the people, I get emails from people all the time saying “I live in Berlin I was having a bad day, I passed by your music and normally I don’t even like rap, I stopped and listened to your stuff and it made my day better I went home with a smile”. That’s what cool about it. You know what I mean. There is way better places in Berlin to play for money than Warschauer (Warschauer Straße). You don’t play Warschauer for the money, you play for the vibe, you play for the people. And to bring something fun to the people and keep the culture of street music alive here. That’s important Everything that I do is original, I’m 100% about supporting original street music. I’m not a wedding singer or karaoke artist. I think that there are different types of musicians out there when it comes to the streets. Some are entertainers and some are musicians that are trying to pursue a music career and that is what I’m trying to do with myself. Everything that I do is mine or comes from producers that I know… some of it is mixtape stuff but most of it is from producers that I’ve either met on the streets or I met traveling around who are my team and they helped me out, I’m trying to bring me out here I’ve seen a lot of crazy stuff here in Berlin and just being on the streets in general I spent most of my day out here. So… the people that I interact with range from people that live out here like on the streets to millionaries that are on vacation and I interact with all of them and I’ve seen them interact with each other and I’ve seen crazy things hapeened, last year somebody knocked me out when I was rapping they just ran on then side and they… just boom… just got me and ripped out my beard. I used to have a long bear and they said my music was shit and that I was shit and instead of stopping, I came out here the next day and I turned my amps even louder cause I was like fuck these guys. You know what I mean? I’m gonna do what I want to do And then from that, I’ve seen people cry, I’ve seen people fights, people laugh and dance a few days ago a girl got completely naked, she was feeling my music and I wasn’t feeling her though. I’ve seen a lot of stuff, I’ve seen people bringing their whole houses out here… and sit down and listen to my music and… it makes their day a little bit better and that is really important to me. I play every day because I get this feeling inside my body that I’ve just to let it go music is my life and I feel like the day that I’m not out here performing is the day that the person that could really excell me to the next level would be walking by. So… I don’t care about it’s raining, it’s snowing. I don’t care about anything. I come out and make my music because my goal is to get it to the people and if I am sitting in my house, I am not getting it to anybody. There is an energy in Berlin that I haven’t found anywhere else I love everywhere I’ve gone and I’ve met amazing people everywhere I’ve gone but Berlin is the city that I feel inspirative. Everybody that I’ve met here, who are doing their own individual projects are super inspirative as well and motivate people. It’s a city full of people with ideas and that is really important for me because I have to work with so many people. Infidelix is not just me, it’s a group of people creating that product, you know? Here I come across so many creative minds who are pursuing goals, they are not just talking about it and then forgetting about it, they actually doing their shit, so that’s very important. Berlin is multiculti.
